10th april 1809200 years ago the Austrian army passes the Inn, a border river between Austria and Bavaria, the war of the 5th coalition begins. At this occasion the Emperor Naopleon adressed the following speach to his armies : Soldats ! le territoire de la Confédération du Rhin a été violé. Le
général autrichien veut que nous fuyons à l'aspect de ses armes, et que
nous lui abandonnions nos alliés. J'arrive avec la rapidité de
l'éclair. Soldats ! j'étais entouré de vous, lorsque le Souverain
d'Autriche vint à mon bivouac de Moravie. Vous l'avez entendu implorer
ma clémence et me jurer une amitié éternelle. Vainqueur dans trois
guerres, l'Autriche a dû tout à notre générosité ; trois fois elle a
été parjure!! Nos succès passés nous sont un sûr garant de la victoire
qui nous attend. Marchons donc, et qu'à notre aspect l'ennemi
reconnaisse son vainqueur!!!
