Picture of communityarmies kept moving their positions. When the battle was nearing the end and the remainder of the Russian Army lead by General Przybyszewsky were trying to escape from the battleground towards Brno, it was just in Kobylnice, where French soldiers unexpectedly blocked their way. In contrast to the present day the countryside of the battleground consisted of many shallow ponds with flat and muddy dense overgrown banks, which no longer exist today. On the banks of the Kobylnice pond, which was situated on Zlatý potok (Golden Creek) towards Sokolnice, many soldiers with horses became bogged down during that time. Allegedly more than 5,000 men and several Generals from the Allied Armies put down their weapons here. In Kobylnice there is no preserved monument, that commemorates the events of the bloody battle. However every year at the beginning of August a traditional and very popular feast in local folklore costumes is held here.
