In the days of 9-11 july 2004 the commemorative event of the battle of Znaim will take place in Dobsice in Southern Moravia.
Until our days find the people in the far vicinity of the village of Dobsice nearby Znojmo stained cannon balls, parts of the military armament and equipment but also the whitened bones of those many who layed their lives on the local soil for the fame of the mighty ones. They remained spread around forgotten for dozens of years and now they remind us of the very last encounter of the bloody war of 1809. These historical events are nowadays reas-sumed by the commemoration festival which is intended to recall the importance of this place for the modern history of the region and the whole country. The organizers would like to pre-sent to the citizens of the region and the nearby city of Znojmo one of the most significant local historical events and thus reinforce their historical unity with the region they live in.
