Eagles distribution - Paris 3rd-5th December 2004

The C.E.N.S. organises, as part of the project Austerlitz 2005 and of the Salon du Premier Empire, a commemorative event of the 200th anniversary of one of the most spectacular ceremonies of the french 1st Empire - the eagles distribution that took place in Paris on the 5th december 1804 (14 frimaire an XIII), three days after Napoleon's Sacre.



The event will take place in Paris on the weekend following the 199th anniversary of the battle of Austerlitz. 24 units representing the french imperial army will come from the Czech republic, France, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Malta and Russia...

17 re-enactment units will get a copy of the eagle model 1804, they are :

  • 8e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Belgium
  • 8e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, fusiliers from the Czech rep.
  • 18e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, fusiliers from France
  • 18e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers and voltigeurs from the Czech rep.
  • 18e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, fusiliers from Russia
  • 19e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Malta
  • 22e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Germany
  • 30e Régiment d'infanterie de ligne, voltigeurs from the Czech rep.
  • 51e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Italy
  • 59e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Italy
  • 113e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, fusiliers and voltigeurs from Italy
  • 9e Régiment d'Infanterie légere, chasseurs from several european countries
  • 5e Régiment d'Artillerie a pied, canonniers from the Czech rep.
  • 6e Régiment d'Artillerie a pied, canonniers from the Czech rep.
  • Régiment de Grenadiers a pied, guard grenadiers from the Czech rep.
  • 1er Régiment de Chevau-légers lanciers, polish guard lancers from Britain
  • 5e Régiment de Cuirassiers, cuirassiers from Russia
4 units will come with their own eagles to strenghten these first 17 regiments :

  • 1er Régiment de Grenadiers a pied de la G.I., guard grenadiers from France
  • Régiment d'Artillerie a pied de la Garde Impériale, guard foot canonniers from Britain (they will get the guidon of the guard horse artillery)
  • 111e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, grenadiers from Italy
  • 2e Régiment de Dragons, dragoons from Belgium
And 3 units will get a flag without the eagle :

  • Régiment de Fusiliers-Grenadiers de la G.I., fusiliers-grenadiers from the Czech rep.
  • Bataillon de Marins de la Garde Impériale, guard marines from the Czech rep.
  • 57e Régiment d'Infanterie de ligne, fusiliers from the Czech rep.
