Plans of the battle on gallica.bnf.frThe digital library of the Bilbiothèque nationale de France, Gallica, offers excellent plans of the battle of Austerlitz Plans of the battle of Austerlitz on gallica.bnf.fr
The most interesting one is the first plan, by capitaine du génie Calmet Beauvoisin, edited, according to the notice, already in 1805 (it is not really probable). The plan answers several questions concerning the disposition and movements of the troops in the different terrains, and it seems to be very precise, especially, of course, from the french perspective. Among other things it shows the range and the disposition of the 12-pdr guns placed on the Santon hill. Autor: Jakub Samek (25/08/2011) back |
