Tato lo\u010f m\u011bla hned dvoj\u00ed symbolick\u00fd v\u00fdznam: na jedn\u00e9 stran\u011b nesla vlajku viceadmir\u00e1la Fran\u00e7ois Paula Brueyse d\u00b4Aigalliers (1753-1798), a na druh\u00e9 stran\u011b zt\u011bles\u0148ovala nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed s\u00edlu na mo\u0159i. Tato lo\u010f o t\u0159ech palub\u00e1ch a 120 d\u011blech byla stav\u011bna v toulonsk\u00e9m arzen\u00e1lu od roku 1790 a na vodu byla spu\u0161t\u011bna roku 1791. Jej\u00ed pl\u00e1ny byly po\u0159\u00edzeny jedn\u00edm z nejlep\u0161\u00edch n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00edch konstrukt\u00e9r\u016f sv\u00e9 doby Jacquesem-No\u00eblem San\u00e9 vzd\u011blan\u00fdm n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00edm d\u016fstojn\u00edkem a \u010dlenem Akademie v\u011bd, ryt\u00ed\u0159em Jeanem-Charlesem de Borda (1733-1799). Staly se jedn\u00edm ze t\u0159\u00ed model\u016f, vybran\u00fdch pro modernizaci a sjednocen\u00ed typ\u016f lod\u00ed, ke kter\u00e9 p\u0159ikro\u010dil ministr n\u00e1mo\u0159nictva, mar\u00e9chal de camp Armand Charles Augustin de La Croix, v\u00e9voda de Castries (1756-1824). Na z\u00e1klad\u011b de Bordov\u00fdch doporu\u010den\u00ed vstoupily francouzsk\u00e9 lod\u011bnice do \u00e9ry s\u00e9riov\u00fdch staveb, p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm dvoupalubn\u00edch lod\u00ed o 74-80 d\u011blech a t\u0159\u00edpalubn\u00edch lod\u00ed o 118 d\u011blech. Jakmile byly pl\u00e1ny schv\u00e1leny, m\u011bly b\u00fdt p\u0159\u00edsn\u011b dodr\u017eov\u00e1ny p\u0159i v\u00fdstavb\u011b lod\u00ed stejn\u00fdch rozm\u011br\u016f, tvaru k\u00fdlu a ponoru. Syst\u00e9m, kter\u00fd se hledal, nespo\u010d\u00edval ani tak ve stanoven\u00ed &#8222;ide\u00e1ln\u00edch&#8220; proporc\u00ed pro ka\u017ed\u00fd typ lodi, jako sp\u00ed\u0161e v mo\u017enosti disponovat t\u0159emi kategoriemi lod\u00ed, schopn\u00fdch chovat se na mo\u0159i stejn\u011b, m\u00edt stejn\u00fd ak\u010dn\u00ed dosah, odvozen\u00fd z kapacity jejich podpalub\u00ed, a bojovat v eskad\u0159e.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.austerlitz.org\/images\/ilustrace\/orient_arnald.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>L&#8217;Orient<\/em> byl jednou z trojpalubn\u00edch lod\u00ed, postaven\u00fdch v l\u00e9tech 1788 &#8211; 1814. Byla dlouh\u00e1 196 stop a 6 palc\u016f (65,18 m), \u0161irok\u00e1 50 stop (16,24 m), s hloubkou lodi 25 stop (8,12 m), a v\u00fdtlakem 2700 tun; tato lo\u010f byla v doln\u00ed baterii vyzbrojena 32 \u0161estat\u0159icetilibrov\u00fdmi d\u011bly, ve druh\u00e9 baterii 34 \u010dty\u0159iadvacetilibrov\u00fdmi d\u011bly, v horn\u00ed baterii 34 dvan\u00e1ctilibrov\u00fdmi d\u011bly a na p\u0159\u00ed\u010fov\u00e9 n\u00e1stavb\u011b 20 osmilibrov\u00fdmi d\u011bly a 4 \u0161estat\u0159icetilibrov\u00fdmi karon\u00e1dami. Tato ob\u00e1van\u00e1 plovouc\u00ed baterie se v\u0161ak nespokojovala t\u00edm, \u017ee je nejsiln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed lod\u00ed ve slu\u017eb\u011b, m\u011bla tak\u00e9 pov\u011bst, \u017ee je nejlep\u0161\u00ed. Britsk\u00e1 admiralita trp\u011bla tv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed v tv\u00e1\u0159 francouzsk\u00fdm lodn\u00edm konstrukc\u00edm komplexem m\u00e9n\u011bcennosti a po zkou\u0161k\u00e1ch se sesterskou lod\u00ed <em>Orientu<\/em>, <em>Commerce-de-Marseille<\/em>, zajatou v Toulonu roku 1793, ne\u0161et\u0159ila chv\u00e1lou: lo\u010f &#8222;v\u00fdjime\u010dn\u011b jemn\u00fdch lini\u00ed, dobr\u00e9 plavidlo pro rozbou\u0159en\u00e9 mo\u0159e\u2026 P\u0159es sv\u00e9 rozm\u011bry pluje jako fregata, na mo\u0159i se chov\u00e1 dob\u0159e. M\u00e1lo lod\u00ed se s n\u00ed m\u016f\u017ee srovn\u00e1vat, je to pozoruhodn\u00e1 lo\u010f, velmi spolehliv\u00e1 a pohodln\u00e1&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Tento koncert chv\u00e1ly v\u0161ak neodolal fakt\u016fm. <em>Royal Navy<\/em> nev\u011bd\u011bla, co si s touto &#8222;v\u00fdte\u010dnou&#8220; lod\u00ed po\u010d\u00edt, a roku 1796 ji zm\u011bnila na ponton! Jeden z nejv\u00fdznamn\u011bj\u0161\u00edch britsk\u00fdch n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00edch konstrukt\u00e9r\u016f, Gabriel Snodgrass, specialista na lod\u011b <em>East India Company<\/em>, hodnotil francouzsk\u00e9 t\u0159\u00edpalubov\u00e9 \u0159adov\u00e9 lod\u011b jako &#8222;sm\u011b\u0161n\u00e1 monstra&#8220;. Sami francouz\u0161t\u00ed n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00edci p\u0159ed nimi d\u00e1vali p\u0159ednost lod\u00edm o 80 d\u011blech, kter\u00e9 byly rychlej\u0161\u00ed a snadn\u011bji ovladateln\u00e9. A\u0165 u\u017e tomu bylo jakkoli, <em>Orient<\/em> byl \u00factyhodnou lod\u00ed. Za celou svou kr\u00e1tkou kari\u00e9ru bylo jedinou pohanou, j\u00ed\u017e utrp\u011bl, to, \u017ee t\u0159ikr\u00e1t zm\u011bnil jm\u00e9no vzhledem k politick\u00fdm prom\u011bn\u00e1m: do roku 1792 se jmenoval <em>Dauphin Royal<\/em>, pak, a\u017e do roku 1795 nesl jm\u00e9no <em>Sans-Culotte<\/em> a nakonec sv\u00e9 posledn\u00ed jm\u00e9no, kter\u00e9 se stalo jeho p\u0159edur\u010den\u00edm, <em>Orient<\/em>. Tato admir\u00e1lsk\u00e1 lo\u010f expedi\u010dn\u00ed flotily byla posledn\u00ed, je\u017e byla p\u0159ipravena k vyplut\u00ed z Toulonu 19. kv\u011btna 1798, ale byla p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 p\u0159et\u00ed\u017een\u00e1 a dotkla se dna rejdy, co\u017e byla nehoda vykl\u00e1dan\u00e1 jako velmi \u0161patn\u00e9 znamen\u00ed, kter\u00e9 p\u0159edpov\u00edd\u00e1 pohromu.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.austerlitz.org\/images\/ilustrace\/orient_brown.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ve vlastn\u00ed bitv\u011b u Ab\u00fak\u00edru, 1. srpna 1798, byl <em>Orient<\/em> Brueysem um\u00edst\u011bn do st\u0159edu francouzsk\u00e9 formace a za\u010dal palbou drtit britsk\u00fd Bellerophon. V p\u016fl osm\u00e9 ve\u010der nade\u0161lo prvn\u00ed drama: smrt Brueyse, zasa\u017een\u00e9ho d\u011blovou koul\u00ed, kter\u00e1 ho t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 rozpoltila vedv\u00ed. O hodinu pozd\u011bji byl jeho vlajkov\u00fd kapit\u00e1n (<em>capitaine de pavillon<\/em>), Korsi\u010dan Luc-Julien-Joseph Casabianca (1762-1798), t\u011b\u017ece zran\u011bn na hlav\u011b. Na <em>Orient<\/em> se vztekle vrhlo a\u017e p\u011bt britsk\u00fdch lod\u00ed. Na jeho palub\u011b bylo uha\u0161eno n\u011bkolik rod\u00edc\u00edch se po\u017e\u00e1r\u016f, ale ohe\u0148 se v\u017edy znovu rozho\u0159el, proto\u017ee byl \u017eiven olejov\u00fdmi n\u00e1t\u011bry paluby. Ve t\u0159i \u010dtvrt\u011b na deset ve\u010der se rozpoutal nov\u00fd po\u017e\u00e1r v \u00fapon\u011b vratiplachty na levoboku a roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159il se do \u0161t\u011b\u017e\u0148ov\u00ed. Ale tentokr\u00e1t ji\u017e nebylo mo\u017en\u00e9 ohe\u0148 zvl\u00e1dnout. V\u0161ichni se spojili v z\u00e1pase s po\u017e\u00e1rem, k jeho\u017e ha\u0161en\u00ed byla povol\u00e1na obsluha baterie \u010dty\u0159iadvacetilibrov\u00fdch d\u011bl: po\u017e\u00e1rn\u00ed pumpa v\u0161ak byla rozt\u0159\u00ed\u0161t\u011bna, bojov\u00e9 sekery nedostupn\u00e9 a v\u011bdra rozh\u00e1zena&#8230; Lo\u010f byla od p\u0159\u00edd\u011b a\u017e k z\u00e1di ko\u0159ist\u00ed plamen\u016f. Tv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed v tv\u00e1\u0159 \u0161\u00ed\u0159i a prudkosti pohromy se kontradmir\u00e1l Honor\u00e9-Joseph-Antoine Ganteaume (1755-1818) rozhodl zaplavit prach\u00e1rnu, co\u017e byl posledn\u00ed prost\u0159edek k z\u00e1chran\u011b lodi i za cenu jej\u00edho odzbrojen\u00ed. Mistr ut\u011bs\u0148ova\u010d sp\u00e1r (<em>ma\u00eetre calfat<\/em>) otev\u0159el z\u00e1klopky. Bylo v\u0161ak ji\u017e p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 pozd\u011b, ohe\u0148 postupoval rychleji ne\u017e voda. Ganteaume nem\u011bl jinou volbu a na\u0159\u00eddil opu\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed <em>Orientu<\/em>. Za v\u0161eobecn\u00e9ho zachra\u0148 se kdo m\u016f\u017ee\u0161 dok\u00e1zala asi stovka mu\u017e\u016f nalodit na \u0161alupu, dal\u0161\u00ed pak na polosp\u00e1len\u00fd \u010dlun, jin\u00ed se pak chytali sra\u017een\u00fdch st\u011b\u017e\u0148\u016f a d\u0159ev\u011bn\u00fdch trosek, zm\u00edtaj\u00edc\u00edch se na vln\u00e1ch kolem ho\u0159\u00edc\u00ed lodi. Ran\u011bn\u00ed, kte\u0159\u00ed z\u016fstali na palub\u011b, uho\u0159eli za\u017eiva. Kolem p\u016fl jeden\u00e1ct\u00e9 tento klenot francouzsk\u00e9ho n\u00e1mo\u0159nictva s d\u011bsiv\u00fdm rachotem vybuchnul, rozerval boky sousedn\u00edch lod\u00ed a pokryl je ho\u0159\u00edc\u00edmi troskami.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Tato v\u00fdjime\u010dn\u00e1 ud\u00e1lost dala vzniknout legend\u011b, kter\u00e9 v\u011b\u0159il i Napol\u00e9on, \u017ee zvrat v bitv\u011b nastal po z\u00e1sahu britsk\u00fdch &#8222;posil&#8220;. To by ov\u0161em znamenalo d\u011blat z d\u016fsledk\u016f p\u0159\u00ed\u010dinu. Je nemo\u017en\u00e9 stanovit p\u0159esn\u00fd po\u010det ob\u011bt\u00ed z <em>Orientu<\/em>, proto\u017ee \u0159\u00e1dn\u00fd stav pos\u00e1dky sice dosahoval po\u010dtu 1.130 mu\u017e\u016f, ale ve chv\u00edli boje nebyl \u00fapln\u00fd. Chyb\u011bla nap\u0159\u00edklad polovina obsluhy baterie dvan\u00e1ctilibrov\u00fdch d\u011bl. Angli\u010dan\u00e9 \u010dasto hovo\u0159ili o pouh\u00fdch sedmdes\u00e1ti n\u00e1mo\u0159n\u00edc\u00edch, kte\u0159\u00ed p\u0159e\u017eili, co\u017e odpov\u00edd\u00e1 po\u010dtu mu\u017e\u016f, kter\u00e9 p\u0159ijali na sv\u00e9 paluby. Kontradmir\u00e1l Denis Decres (1761-1820), velitel fregat, dosp\u00edv\u00e1 k po\u010dtu 760 mu\u017e\u016f, kte\u0159\u00ed z pohromy vyv\u00e1zli.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ob\u011b eskadry, zasa\u017een\u00e9 \u00fa\u017easem tv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed v tv\u00e1\u0159 t\u00e9to v\u00fdjime\u010dn\u00e9 ud\u00e1losti ve velk\u00e9 bitv\u011b, se na chv\u00edli t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 n\u00e1bo\u017en\u011b odml\u010dely. P\u0159esto\u017ee byl Nelson zran\u011bn v obli\u010deji, vystoupil na m\u016fstek, aby hled\u011bl na tuto v\u00fdjime\u010dnou pod\u00edvanou, je\u017e s v\u011bt\u0161\u00edm \u010di men\u0161\u00edm realismem inspirovala tolik mal\u00ed\u0159\u016f a rytc\u016f. Katastrofa v\u0161ak vstoupila do \u0159\u00ed\u0161e sn\u016f s hou\u017eevnatou legendou, \u017ee pr\u00fd mo\u0159e pohltilo s Orientem i poklad malt\u00e9zsk\u00fdch ryt\u00ed\u0159\u016f. Jacques Dumas, p\u0159edseda Sv\u011btov\u00e9 konfederace podmo\u0159sk\u00fdch aktivit (<em>Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration mondiale des activit\u00e9s subaquatiques<\/em>), zalo\u017een\u00e9 roku 1956 komandantem Cousteauem, objevil roku 1984 za p\u0159\u00edtomnosti prince Louise Napol\u00e9ona a za pomoci francouzsk\u00e9 minolovky <em>Orient<\/em>, kter\u00fd byl identifikov\u00e1n d\u00edky sv\u00e9mu dvan\u00e1ct metr\u016f vysok\u00e9mu kormidlu, zes\u00edlen\u00e9mu m\u011bd\u00ed, na n\u011bm\u017e bylo naps\u00e1no jeho star\u00e9 jm\u00e9no <em>Dauphin Royal<\/em>. Trosky <em>Orientu<\/em> byly roztrou\u0161eny na v\u00edce ne\u017e t\u0159ech stovk\u00e1ch metr\u016f, co\u017e dokazuje s\u00edlu v\u00fdbuchu. Ze dna byly sedm kilometr\u016f od b\u0159ehu vyzvednuty z hloubky dev\u00edti metr\u016f stovky p\u0159edm\u011bt\u016f, kter\u00e9 byly ulo\u017eeny ve dvou egyptsk\u00fdch muze\u00edch. Roku 1998 &#8222;znovu objevil&#8220; vrak francouzsk\u00fd archeolog Franck Goddio. Z tohoto nov\u00e9ho podmo\u0159sk\u00e9ho archeologick\u00e9ho v\u00fdzkumu vyplynulo, \u017ee Orient vybuchnul nejen na z\u00e1di, kde se nach\u00e1zela lodn\u00ed prach\u00e1rna, ale, co\u017e je ne\u010dekan\u00e9, i na p\u0159\u00eddi.
