{"id":181,"date":"2008-12-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-20T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.austerlitz.org\/en\/2008\/11\/21\/austerlitz-2008-press-release\/"},"modified":"2017-12-12T13:18:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T12:18:32","slug":"austerlitz-2008-press-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.austerlitz.org\/en\/austerlitz-2008-press-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Austerlitz 2008 &#8211; press release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.austerlitz.org\/images\/logo\/jubilejni10let.gif\" \/><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">The town of Slavkov u Brna (Austerlitz), communes of Tvarozna (Bosenitz) and Prace (Pratzen)<br \/>\nand the Central European Napoleonic Society organize within the Project Austerlitz<br \/>\nand with an important financial support of the South moravian Region the event of Austerlitz 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Under the auspices of the 1st vice-governor of the South moravian region, Mr. Milan Venclik<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>About 1000 re-enactors from many european countries (Czech rep., Poland, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary) will participate at the event of Austerlitz 2008 whose main points of program are: the battle re-enactment under the Santon hill, that begins at 15:00 on saturday, and the sunday&#8217;s act of piety at the Peace monument at noon. Other program will take place in many communes of the battlefield. This year the battle re-enactment ends at dusk, which will offer and interesting view of fires and effects, the end of the battle will certainly have an interesting atmosphere.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\nDuring 11 events since 1998, including the 200th anniversary in 2005, about 12,000 of participants came to Austerlitz from dozens of countries of Europe, over 500 horses, more than 100,000 visitors, the troops have used almost 5 tons of black gunpowder; the commemorative events of Austerlitz are, among the large events taking place regulary, organized since the longest time, and they are the only ones being organized in winter.
